One of the most notable changes with the new TouchDIVER Pro is its shift from single-unit sales to being sold exclusively in pairs. This decision reflects a deeper evolution in the glove’s design and functionality compared to its predecessor, the TouchDIVER G1.

Symmetry and Essentiality: The TouchDIVER G1

The TouchDIVER G1 was a pioneer in haptic glove technology, offering users an advanced tactile experience, with thermal cues, force feedback, and texture rendering. One of its standout features was its symmetrical design. This meant there was no distinction between the right and left hand — each glove could be worn on either hand. This interchangeability was achieved through a highly intricate design process, aimed at minimizing production complexity while maximizing utility. However, while this approach allowed for single-unit sales and helped lower the initial price barrier, it also came with compromises. Designing a glove that worked seamlessly for either hand was challenging due to the complexity of its design and programming.

Precision and Performance: The TouchDIVER Pro

Enter the TouchDIVER Pro, a product designed to address the limitations of its predecessor while redefining haptic precision. Apart from having six actuation points instead of three, the Pro differs from the G1 because each unit is specifically designed as either a right-hand or left-hand glove, allowing for an anatomically optimized fit. This advancement focuses on fit and precision, ensuring a tailored haptic experience for users. The decision to sell the TouchDIVER Pro in pairs underscores this commitment to quality. By focusing on pairs, we ensure users receive a fully integrated system, ready to support the demands of modern virtual and augmented reality applications. While the upfront cost of a pair is higher than a single G1, the Pro is still more affordable than purchasing two G1 devices, offering exceptional value for its performance. Customers benefit from improved performance and durability, making the Pro an excellent investment for both individuals and businesses.
