Touching the future:
our Haptic Totem at Expo 2025 Osaka
We are proud to be part of Expo Osaka 2025, one of the world’s most important showcases of innovation, culture and technology. At the very heart of the Italy Pavilion, visitors are experiencing something truly unique: our Haptic Totem, a pioneering device that brings the sense of touch to digital interactions by synchronizing tactile feedback with visual and auditory content.
Touch is often considered the most intimate and emotionally powerful of our senses, and yet it’s the one most often missing in digital experiences. With the Haptic Totem, visitors can feel textures, vibrations and forces in real time, adding a new layer of meaning and emotion to how we engage with digital content.
On-site at the Italy Pavilion is our co-founder Domenico Prattichizzo, who is also Professor of Robotics and Haptics at the University of Siena and is presenting the Haptic Totem as part of the T-Power and THE projects promoted by Regione Toscana. His deep expertise and passion for human-technology interaction are helping guide visitors through this transformative journey, offering a glimpse into how haptics is set to change everything from communication to learning.
The Haptic Totem is more than a technological demonstration—it’s a symbol of what’s possible when we bring the human sense of touch into the digital realm. It showcases a wide range of real-world applications:
In rehabilitation and motor training, where haptics provides more intuitive and engaging feedback;
In marketing, where customers can physically interact with products before purchasing;
In education and remote learning, where touch enhances memory and understanding;
In remote communication and interaction, making digital presence feel more real and connected.
And the public response? Incredible. Everyone is amazed by how natural and immersive it feels to physically touch something that isn’t really there.
For us at WEART, being part of Expo Osaka 2025 is a proud and emotional milestone. Seeing our technology ignite curiosity, dialogue and wonder on such a global stage confirms what we’ve always believed: haptics is the missing link in truly immersive digital experiences.
