Diving into the XR Community at AWE USA 2024

We are back from the AWE USA 2024 –  the world’s #1 spatial computing event series for the AR & VR (XR) industry leading – which took place from June 18-20 in Long Beach, California.

This year’s edition has been quite special for us: we have introduced the second generation of TouchDIVER haptic glove, named TouchDIVER Pro, with its new shape featuring 6 actuation points – 5 finger and the palm, and we have been awarded during the Auggie Awards ceremony as “Best Societal Impact for our TouchKEY+ Multisensory Station project.

Feedback from the booth

During the event, we have showcased our new TouchDIVER Pro haptic glove, developed from extensive customer feedback and market analysis carried out since 2021. Differently from the first generation of TouchDIVER, the new TouchDIVER Pro glove features six actuation points, including all five fingers and the palm, and our unique multimodal haptic feedback, which provides lifelike force feedback, textures rendering and thermal cues.

It was fantastic to showcase our innovative technology at AWE and gather invaluable feedback from the XR community. Our technology provided strong validation for the new glove, attracting significant interest from companies and partners. A big thank you to everyone who took the time to try out our TouchDIVER!

Winners of the Auggie Awards as "Best Societal Impact"

Finally, we are thrilled to announce that we won the Auggie Awards for the “Best Societal Impact” category with our project “TouchKEY+ Multisensory Station”The project is the result of extensive teamwork, in which the Civic Museum of Monza played a fundamental role in helping us understand how to adapt technology to serve visually impaired or blind visitors.

Furthermore, the project involved various partners such as Keiron Interactive and AerariumChain, with whom we collaborated to digitize the artworks, create the 3D replicas and an intuitive exploratory path, all enhanced by synchronized tactile sensations.

“TouchKEY+ Multisensory Station,” is dedicated to enhancing accessibility and inclusivity for visually impaired visitors by allowing them to touch and experience digitized 3D replicas of artworks.

The innovative TouchKEY+ haptic devices are at the heart of this immersive experience, delivering tactile sensations such as shapes, vibrations, and thermal feelings directly to the fingertips. These sensations are associated with selected elements of the artwork, offering a rich and immersive exploration.

In addition to tactile feedback, the TouchKEY+ Multisensory Station integrates custom audio guides that provide descriptive texts. These guides can be activated according to the user’s exploration path, ensuring a seamless and personalized experience.

A huge thanks to all the judges involved in the selection, the XR community and you all for supporting the project!
